You must be academically eligible for admission. The scholarship is granted to a first-year student who is a graduate of an Ontario school board with an interest in pursuing a career in education and social service. Demonstrated leadership skills, volunteer service, commitment to the community and a love of music may be attributes of the successful candidate.

The applicant must be an Ontario resident, as specified by the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Students qualify on the basis of financial need. The applicant must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a protected person under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada).
