Professional

U of T offers a 4-year program leading to a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Three years of university education (at least 15 full-year courses) required. Academic prerequisites include 1 full-year or 2 half-year courses in general biochemistry, 1 full-year or 2 half-year courses in general mammalian physiology, 2 additional full-year or 4 half-year courses in life sciences and 1 full-year or 2 half-year courses in humanities or social sciences. Students are also required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Candidates also must submit Canadian Dental Aptitude Test (DAT) scores.

Students already possessing an undergraduate degree may apply for admission to the Diploma program. The Diploma in Digital Communication (CDC) helps students understand the best practices of social media, virtual worlds and emerging forms of online communication.

Based on practical explorations of media theory, this program is ideal for students who want to pursue a career in digital communications. It is also geared towards students who want to augment their professional or academic pursuits with a powerful set of tools and competencies that include:

  • principles and production of social media, digital media and virtual worlds
  • online information and organization
  • creating and overseeing digital content
  • theoretical and practical application of virtual worlds and simulated spaces

The Diploma in Ethics, offered through Western University, Department of Philosophy, is being offered as a response to a wide and growing interest in the ethical dimensions of professional and public life. The purpose of this program is to enable participants to strengthen and develop their understanding of ethics so as to enhance their ability to recognize and respond to ethical issues in a wide variety of social settings.

The Diploma in Ethics will educate students in the essential concepts, central issues, history and methodologies of ethical reasoning. The program also emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills, writing skills and verbal skills. The Diploma in Ethics is a post-undergraduate program of study that may be completed full-time in 1 year or part-time over a number of years.

Open to all students at the University, the Diploma in Professional Communication aims to develop students' writing abilities in workplace writing genres. All program courses may be credited toward other undergrad programs.

A student who does not yet possess a university degree may apply for admission to the Certificate Program in Professional Communication, which can be taken concurrently with an undergraduate degree.

Open to all students with a university degree, the Diploma in Writing aims to develop the general writing ability of students. All program courses may be credited toward other undergraduate programs.

Anyone with a university degree may apply for admission, subject to prerequisites and general university entrance requirements. If you do not already possess a university degree, you may apply for admission to the Certificate in Writing, which can be taken concurrently with an undergraduate degree.

The Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph is a leader in veterinary health care, learning and research. This 4-year professional degree is accredited by the Canadian and American Veterinary Medical Associations.  

Entrance Information and Requirements: - Completion of a minimum of 2 years of a university undergraduate degree program. Applications to DVM may be submitted during a student's third year. - Completion of 8 university-level required courses: cell biology; biochemistry; genetics; statistics; 2 biological sciences; and 2 humanities and/or social sciences. - Experience with veterinarians. - Submission of a Background Information Form. - 3 letters of reference (2 must be from veterinarians). - An interview. -CASPer Situational Judgement Test - Canadian applicants, including dual citizens, must be residents of Ontario. The Bachelor of Education allows you to work as a teacher and aspire to one of the many positions available in French-language elementary schools in Ontario and Canada. Two courses - Full-time, 4 sessions over 16 consecutive months for faster entry into the job market - Part-time, 10 sessions over a minimum of 42 consecutive months, allowing you to continue working in your current career, or to substitute teach in French-language schools with a letter of permission from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) (after successfully completing 5 courses, including a practicum). An undergraduate degree is required. Preference is given to those who have attained a high academic average in a 4-year degree program and to those with relevant experience.

Consecutive Education (Primary/Junior)
This 16-month program prepares you to be an elementary school teacher (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6) with strengths in science, mathematics, literacy and technology.

Admission is based on an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with a minimum required average of 70% ("B-" or 2.7 GPA) in the best 10 full-year or best 20 half-year courses completed. Preference is given to 4-year honours degrees.

Because Primary/Junior teachers deal with a wide range of subject areas, it is desirable that you have a broad academic background.
