Indigenous Admission Pathway

Queen’s University offers Indigenous candidates an additional and alternative pathway for admission to the first year of a full-time, first-entry undergraduate degree program. Students must self-identify on their OUAC application and submit a separate letter to the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre stating their interest in being considered under this policy. Students must also provide evidence of Indigenous ancestry with their request.

First Generation Student Admission Pathway

Queen’s encourages participation in postsecondary education by first-generation students. First-generation candidates, including Pathways to Education students, Leadership by Design participants, Extended Society Care Students and members of the Boys and Girls Club Raising the Grade program or Big Brothers Big Sisters “Pumped for Post-Secondary” program, are offered an additional and alternative admission pathway to the first year of a full-time, first-entry undergraduate degree program.

Offers of admission will be made to first-generation candidates whose total application shows strong evidence of academic preparedness and potential. Students will be introduced to the contacts and services available at the Student Experience Office and the Student Awards Office during the application process and upon admission.

Queen’s University encourages students to access these services throughout their time at Queen’s. Students who are admitted through this pathway will be encouraged to make use of the academic advising and academic support services available to all students at Queen’s University.
