Other Information

You will have the choice of "House" (community) you would like to live in. New students often choose either Brescia House or Inizio House. Esperto House is reserved for students entering Year 2 or above.

Brescia House

As a university, Brescia values women and their potential for leadership in society.

Brescia House embraces students from all backgrounds and at all stages of their Brescia studies. Core to Brescia’s values is the development of, and respect for, community. In Brescia House, student leaders work with residents to provide programming and support services that enhance community building.

At Brescia House there is a more relaxed guest policy and residents are challenged to be governed by the impact of their actions upon the broader community. Residents are permitted up to 12 overnight guest stays per term, provided the stays do not have a negative impact on the residence community.

Inizio House

In Italian, “inizio” means “beginning, start and departure”.

Beginning university is an exciting but challenging time of new beginnings. Inizio House is designed for incoming students and strives to create an environment geared toward easing the transition to university life. Programming and support services focus on creating the best first-year (or Preliminary Year) experience possible. Student leaders are selected to participate in the house to create a supportive and mentoring environment for all students living in these communities.

Inizio House has extended study hours during the exam and midterm periods and a limited guest policy. Residents are permitted up to 10 overnight guest stays per term, provided the stays do not have a negative impact on the residence community. Male guests, however, are not permitted to stay overnight on the residence floors.
