Leadership Minor

Be part of engaging courses that develop the leadership skills needed to inspire, motivate and drive change. The minor in Leadership focuses on understanding and the development of leaders and acquiring the leadership skills needed to inspire, motivate and bring about change. You will study leaders, past and present, and learn to identify and overcome leadership issues.

Our broad range of Leadership courses will give you a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today's leaders. Take courses such as:

  • Communication Skills for Leadership
  • Influence, Persuasion and Negotiation
  • Leadership Ethics
  • Project Management

A minor in Leadership will help to prepare you for a career that will make a difference to you, your community and your employer.

Law Degree (LLB) at the University of Sussex, UK and Science Degree at Laurier 

Laurier signed an agreement to affiliate with 1 of the world’s top 100 educational institutions to offer students an opportunity to earn a Laurier undergraduate degree and a law degree (LLB) from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom (UK), in 6 years. New for 2021, you can complete this program with a Bachelor of Science in Data Science. This program is also available with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy and Political Science.

International Education Studies (BA)

The first of its kind in Canada, this collaborative program is your pathway to teach in international schools or pursue education-related work in international development. Take courses from the Faculty of Education and Department of Global Studies to gain global awareness and intercultural understandings. Develop abilities in teaching methods and learn how to approach international education.

As part of the program, you can choose to complete a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate from Conestoga College, making you certified to teach English to newcomers in Canada or a foreign country. You can also choose to complete the internationally recognized International Teaching Certificate (ITC) from Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS).

Honours Science (BSc)

Are you passionate about science, but unsure of what discipline to major in? Define and pursue your interests across a variety of scientific disciplines, before committing to a major. Or you can decide not to major at all and take courses from all aspects of science and graduate with a broad-based science degree. Either way, be prepared for future studies in professional or academic science-related fields.

You have the flexibility to choose courses that interest you – take advantage of Laurier’s extensive and diverse science course offerings. Tailor your degree to your career aspirations and post-graduation plans.

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Data Science

We live in a big data era. Technological advances have created unprecedented amounts of information about our world. Big data is changing the ways we work and how we’ll decide what to do next.

The first undergraduate degree of its kind in Canada, our Data Science program addresses the data-related needs of modern business and industry. You will study mathematics, statistics, computing technologies and methods, and data analytics. You can choose to concentrate in Financial Risk Analysis, Statistic Analysis or Big Data. 

As a data scientist, you can find work in medicine, marketing, insurance, finance, human resources, health care, government and more.

Vancouver Film School Pathway for English (BA)

The Vancouver Film School (VFS) pathway gives you the opportunity to enrich your critical study of literature with practical training in writing at Canada’s leading school for film-making.

In only 4 years, students in the VFS pathway complete an honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Laurier and a diploma from VFS. English students (or combined English and Film Studies students) attend VFS's Writing for Film, Television and Games program.
