Western’s residences offer traditional, suite- and hybrid-style buildings offering either single or mixed-gender rooms or suites. Students have greater freedom to choose the person(s) with whom they wish to live. Mixed-gender rooms or suites are an opt-in option.

Front desk staff are available in various residences during the day, and are accessible by telephone on a 24-hour basis. Western University, including all residences, is smoke-free.
Space in residence is guaranteed to all high school students who receive an offer of first-year, full-time admission to the Main Campus by mid-June.
Students entering university with a 90% final admission average or above, who live in residence for their first year, are guaranteed on-campus accommodation for their second year, provided that they re-apply by the deadline (policy reviewed annually). Offers of residence are sent with offers of admission.

With the exception of Alumni House and London Hall (exclusively upper-year buildings), each of Western's residences offers the convenience of in-house dining facilities. The meal plan includes a combination of residence dollars for items prepared in the dining hall, and flex dollars for convenience and off-campus purchases.
If desired, meal plans can be topped up online at no additional cost. Unused food credit balances at the end of the year can be carried forward onto a meal plan for the next academic year. For a $40 processing fee, unused food credit balances can be refunded.
